JOB DESCRIPTION
Create and submit bids for the glazing scopes of work in regard to commercial construction projects by interpreting both blueprints and specifications, performing material take-offs, and collecting material quotes from suppliers. Reports to Chief Estimator.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Obtain bid documents: Research, download, and print.
-Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
-Perform material take-offs.
-Create material summaries to estimate field labor. Labor estimates are the responsibility of the Chief Estimator and the President. Attend pre-bid meetings.
-Assist the estimating team with scope reviews and conference calls.
-Meet fast paced deadlines.
-Communicate with suppliers, contractors, and architects.
-Assist with handing off awarded projects to the project management team.
-Always handle every situation professionally especially when communicating with suppliers, contractors, and architects.
-Sketch up materials in AutoCad for ease of take-off and interpretation.
-Proficient with the following Software:
-AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Word, Drop Box
QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelors Degree in Architecture or a similar / related role in the construction industry or manufacturing setting.
-2+ years’ related experience.
-Strong written, verbal, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations and meet tight deadlines.
